As I sit down to write this article, I cannot help but be overwhelmed by the resounding impact social media has had on my life and those around me. Growing up in the age of big tech and the rat wheel of validation at our fingertips is a twilight zone reality.

Even now, I attempted to share these articles on Facebook and found myself checking the items for engagement.

“Why the hell am I doing this?” I asked.

Disgust for my mindless behaviors ensued. As an avid meditator, a cornerstone of the practice is to view thoughts and actions non-judgmentally.

I cannot stand the idea of being puppeteered. I won’t fall down the existential hole on this topic, but it’s coming.

The Social Dilemma illuminated some deeply held fears about our society’s direction, and frankly, the human race.

If this ^ does not terrify you, I’m sure flights to China are not that expensive. Ultimately, this is what we are looking at if we do not ensure safety protocol for the social media giants.

At this point, I’m a couple of decades away from my tin foil hat. Maybe our generation is SOL, but if there was ever a time for action, it is now.
